The rising food prices have put millions more in risk of hunger, starvation and further malnutrition. The food shortage is most severe in some of Nepal’s remote districts, most notable in the far North-Western mountainous regions of Humla, Mugu, Dolpa and Kalikot. But even here, in the capital city of Kathmandu, people don’t always have enough to eat. During the cold winter months, several charitable organisations have soup kitchens where poor people can show up and get a hot meal, without questions asked
